Alabama received a verbal commitment from five-star cornerback Jahlil Hurley on Tuesday. From Florence, Ala., Hurley is ranked No. 22 nationally and No. 4 among cornerbacks in the Class of 2023, according to the 247Sports Composite.

He’s also the No. 4 player in the state of Alabama, which is particularly talent-rich in this cycle with 11 of the top 100 players. The Crimson Tide signed six of the top nine in-state players in 2022, led by five-star edge player Jeremiah Alexander.

The 6-foot-2, 170-pound Hurley is the second early member of the Crimson Tide’s 2023 class, joining four-star Venice, Fla., safety Elliot Washington. In addition to Alabama, Hurley previously expressed interest in Auburn, Georgia, Michigan and Texas A&M, among other schools.
