Covering the impact of coronavirus on the sports world
College basketball season officially starts next week, and the CBS schedule will be loaded with great games. The network announced its full slate on Tuesday, and it features games involving 23 of the teams in the preseason AP Top 25 among its more than 280 total games on CBS and CBS Sports Network.
The first game on CBS will be Saturday, Dec. 4, when No. 6 Michigan hosts San Diego State at 1 p.m. ET. But fans yearning for hoops action before then can check out CBS Sports Network on Nov. 12 for a tripleheader that features NCAA Tournaments hopefuls such as Richmond, Utah State, Virginia Tech and Stanford.
Dec. 18 will bring a must-see tripleheader on CBS, beginning with No. 1 Gonzaga and Texas Tech playing in the Jerry Colangelo Classic. That game will be followed by two marquee showdowns in the eighth annual CBS Sports Classic from T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. The first game of the classic features No. 2 UCLA and No. 19 North Carolina while the second features No. 10 Kentucky and No. 17 Ohio State.
In total, the CBS family will televise 40 games involving teams in the preseason AP Top 25. A total of 12 automatic NCAA Tournament bids will also be secured on CBS or CBS Sports Network once conference tournament season arrives. Of course, it will all culminate with the 2022 NCAA Tournament. Here’s the full college basketball schedule for CBS and CBS Sports Network with all times ET.
